A park made up of spectacular mosaics
Located in Hitachinaka, a city located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, Hitachi Coastal Park is located in a former military base of U.S, whose lands were ceded to the Japanese government in 1973. As you can see for yourself in the images that we offer you in the gallery, today it is home to millions of flowers of different species. The flowers are distributed in such a way that they create spectacular mosaic landscapes that change their hue depending on the season of the year. Even the name of this place is beautiful. And is that Hitachi means "dawn."
Depending on the time of year
One of the things we like most about this corner of Japan is that not all flowers bloom at the same time, so the park remains colorful practically throughout the year. Of course, with different shades depending on the season. Thus, while in spring tulips, crocuses, daffodils and nemophilas are born; in summer we can see daisies, roses and zinnias bloom. As for autumn, Kochia bushes fill the park with a welcoming crimson hue. Other species that you will be able to contemplate in this park are the cherry trees, poppies, cosmos, sunflowers or lilies.
Nemophilas
Although, as we have just mentioned, there are many flowers that flood this place, it is possible that the most striking are the nemophilas, which flood much of the park of blue when spring comes. In fact, during this season the Armonia nemofila festival is celebrated in the park, which serves to celebrate the arrival of this small and precious flower that is numbered by millions.
Other attractions of the park
Beyond the flowers, the Hitachi Coastal Park offers other interesting attractions. For example, inside the park you can find an amusement area that stands out for having a giant ferris wheel. In addition, you can find different restaurants. As it could not be otherwise, the place is also endowed with areas of picnic, very typical in this Asian country.
