It is located in the Maiden's Tower, also known as the Leander’s Tower. It dates from the medieval Byzantine period (2,500 years ago), when the tower was built on a small islet located at the southern entrance to the Bosphorus Strait, 200 meters from the Üsküdar coast.
Formerly it was used as a watchtower to control the enemy fleet. Then it became a lighthouse and is now one of the most popular restaurants in Turkey.
