Ben Saunders' polar journey

Ben saunders He has dared with a trip that is not within the reach of anyone. The well-known explorer has decided to start the polar journey most ambitious in history considering that it will not have assistance. Yes, it will accompany you Intel both in the presentation of your adventure and in the technological support by way of partner.

You want to complete the expedition Scott, a very tough route that consists of 1,800 miles (2,897 kilometers). It is a return trip from Scott's refuge (at the edge of the Antarctic) to the South Pole. It is what is known as the Terra Nova route, where he died Robert Falcon, captain of the British Navy who tried unsuccessfully to complete it in 1912. In fact, no one has been able to complete such a journey since then, which speaks volumes for Saunders' daring.

Equipped for a unique journey

Ben will use a system Sony VAIO® Pro Ultrabook ™ equipped with the 4th generation processor Intel® Core ™. This is how you can send videos, photos, data and content to a blog that any of you can follow. It will load the Ultrabook with solar panels attached to a sled that has been designed for the occasion. And best of all, you can share your trip with minimal delay to communicate your story in an engaging way.

The Ultrabook system has revolutionized the world of mobility. It can operate at -45˚ C temperature thanks to tests carried out in cold rooms installed in the Intel labs from United Kingdom. And it is not a special device for Saunders, since we can find it in any store. The only thing they have modified are the power cables for other low temperature versions that include a silicone layer.

Have elapsed 48 days and have almost traveled 1,000 kilometers. Things are going to ask for word of mouth and if they continue like this they will achieve what seemed impossible.

Facebook application

I have to tell you that you can also participate in this adventure, although of course, without being cold. You only have to download the application that Intel has developed in Facebook and invite three friends with which to travel virtually from Spain to the South Pole.

It is a boat trip with four stops (plus the departure port). At each stop crew members must pass a test individually. Only when everyone passes it can they travel to the next stop. In total there are four levels and those who pass all levels will have the privilege of entering a draw. There will be a main prize and a number of secondary awards still to be determined. It will be a jury of intel the one that will choose the winners based on the quality of the content shared by all those who reach the South Pole.
