The Australian Great Barrier Reef

It is a natural wonder like few others. The most extensive set of coral reefs on the planet. For something was declared World Heritage by Unesco in 1981.

It is located on the northwest coast of Australia and it gathers more than 400 different varieties of coral, about 1,500 species of fish and 4,000 of mollusks. The whole is a natural spectacle of extraordinary beauty and marine wealth. Escaping to swim there is one of the most amazing and impressive life experiences imaginable.

Pure beauty

The habitat included in the Great Barrier Reef has an extension of about 348,000 square kilometers. A wonderful environment unique in the world in which treasures of incalculable beauty coexist. It is believed that there is of the order of 2,500 reefs of different sizes and shapes, and more than 900 islands that make up a spectacular landscape.

Also, the great diversity of species that live there make the place one of the richest natural ecosystems in the world: in addition to the varieties that we have previously counted, you can also find a multitude of crustaceans, anemones, sponges, etc. And all this biodiversity attaches great importance to the Australian Great Barrier Reef scientific and biological.

Its beauty is evident, even if viewed from the air. You can see the incredible beauty of the seascape, of the islands scattered around there, with their paradisiacal beaches and the green spots of the lush forests. On one of these islands is the world's largest green turtle breeding area. And, below the water, the spectacle of corals, with a thousand shapes, sizes and colors, continually surrounded by the fish that live there. Awesome.
