Explore the Amalfi coast, a paradise in Italy

Surely you know it, you have seen it a lot of times in movies, or it has appeared as the setting in many books you have read ... Now I propose to you really tour it, visiting its villages and admiring its landscapes live and direct.

The amalfi coast It is in the Italian region of Campania. It is a section of Italian coastline bathed by the Tyrrhenian Sea, between Sorrento and the Gulf of Salerno, which monopolizes a large touristic interest for the natural beauty of the surroundings and the charm of its small cities and towns. Of course, if you decide to visit this paradise on earth, do it now, before tourists colonize the area when summer is more advanced.

Glamor, nature and charming towns

The geographical area that borders the Amalfi coast is of incredible beauty. It is a strip of land that the Italians call the “costiera”, which is limited on one side by the sea and on the other by the Lattari mountains. The road that runs along the coast meanders between steep slopes and cliffs, and goes one by one through villages of special beauty: Positano, Amalfi, Cetara, Ravello, Paraiano, etc.

The most important of all, and the one that gives the area its name is Amalfi, a town of pastel-colored houses and narrow streets that hangs down the side of the mountain to the beach. It is closed to traffic, which is a success since in summer it is one of the most visited tourist spots in the area.

Unesco declared the Amalfi coast for a reason World Heritage in 1997. In fact, I have read somewhere that when amalfitans die and arrive in paradise they feel at home. It is not surprising that this small corner of the Mediterranean has for decades attracted the cream of society: Hollywood actors and actresses (Humphrey Bogart and Greta Garbo were regulars of the place) displayed their glamor, and great writers and playwrights were inspired by this beautiful land (Henrik Ibsen wrote his famous "Dollhouse" there). Therefore, do not hesitate and escape to explore the Amalfi coast. Watching the sunset over the sea will be unforgettable.
