The best Christmas markets in Barcelona

Just over a month to go Christmas and many places are already beginning to "dress" in a special way for these dates, without a doubt one of the most special times of the year. Christmas is also a good time to travel and so you can discover the traditions that for these dates are in other parts of the world or even in your same country but in cities other than yours.

One of the things that attracts the most attention on those dates in any city is their Christmas markets, in which you can find really interesting things in a totally special environment. Today I would like to write about some of the best of these markets that you can find in our country, specifically about the best in a city as touristy and beautiful as Barcelona.

Christmas markets in Barcelona

– Fira de Nadal: It is a Christmas fair that starts in the first week of December and houses the most famous street market in the city. Almost all of their stalls are dedicated to Christmas, especially decorative elements, trees, mistletoe, etc. It is in the surroundings of the gardens of the Sagrada Familia.

– Santa Llúcia Fair: It is another Christmas fair and opens from the last week of November to December 22. It is right in front of the cathedral and throughout the square you can find, in addition to stalls selling Christmas items, various Christmas figures representing various images. Some of the most striking stalls are those that sell hand-carved figures for the Nativity Scene.

– Col.lectiu d’Artesans de l’Alimentació: This flea market is throughout the year but it has many more stalls and things for sale during the Christmas season. It is in a square near the popular Church of Santa María del Pi and has about 20 stalls. In them you can find not only Christmas products but also local products such as cheeses, chocolates, honeys, herbs, pâtés, cakes and even wines. It is the perfect place to taste the best products of Catalan gastronomy, with special attention to those typical of Christmas.
