Spain has the privilege of being the country with the most Blue Flag beaches. This speaks highly of the quality of the waters on our coasts, so it is not difficult to find sandy areas where you can enjoy a fantastic day of sun and sand.
The most beautiful of all, in our humble opinion, is the beach of Ses Illetes. It is in Formentera and has all the ingredients that I personally value when it comes to feeling more or less at ease.
Less than half a kilometer you will never want to leave behind
Its 450 meters of fine white sand fill up in July and August, something that is not surprising when you consider that it is world famous. It usually appears at the top of the main European rankings, which is why many articles have already been written defining its charm.
It is on the north coast of the island, at the point called Es Trucadors. It belongs to the parish of Sant Ferran de Ses Roques (it is one of the three on the island) and is part of the natural park of Ses Salines, a protected area since 2001.
Ses Illetes beach, whose seabed is full of meadows posidoniaIt is highly recommended for diving and snorkelling. All this with the respect that this small paradise deserves, which was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
How to get
The fact that it is only 4 kilometers from La Savina, which is where the port of Formentera is, makes getting to it by public transport very easy. You can go by bus and you can even get there by boat, although you can also opt for an even greener option taking advantage of the route: bike.
Highly recommended for families with children
One of the things I like the most about Ses Illetes has to do with the more than 50 meters that you have to travel in the water to start covering. That makes it perfect for children and to play a whole summer classic like shovels.
