Travel to Manacor, Rafa Nadal's hometown

There are a lot of corners in our country, and all over the world, that seem to be hidden until someone who is from there becomes famous. It is what has happened to us with Manacor, a beautiful city that is in the Balearic Islands but that not many people knew existed until it arrived Rafael Nadal, the tennis player who has broken almost all the records of his sport. On the island of Mallorca, Manacor is undoubtedly a fantastic destination, especially during the summer holidays.

It is located about 50 kilometers east of the city of Palma de Mallorca and it is perfect both for being there on vacation and for taking an excursion from anywhere on the island. Manacor is a charming city that has many interesting places to visit and very interesting things to do. Like almost any city, its old town is wonderful, and there you can see several interesting things. Known as Ses Dames, the center of Manacor lets you see places like the Church of the Mare de Deu dels Dolors, which has a spectacular tower 80 meters high.

There are many historical monuments that are worth visiting, such as the Church of Santo Domingo, the Church of San Vicente Ferrer or the Torre de Ses Puntes, which is currently an exhibition hall. Highlight the Old Royal Palace, which formerly served as home to King Jaime and which today is a spectacular bar where you can have a drink in a unique medieval setting. Plaza Sa Bassa is the most famous in Manacor, a square with a lot of history and with many historical buildings that are worth seeing.

The average annual temperature in Manacor is 17ºC, and during the summer months it is usually around 30. Spectacular Hams Caves, which are on the outskirts and are a true natural wonder. If you like the beach, there are several coves in the municipality of Manacor where you can have a good day of rest.
