The island of Koh Samui It was discovered in 1970 by a group of backpackers who came to it and which until then was a totally unknown but also heavenly place. Thanks to its beauty, in a very short time it became an island that began to live on tourism and exploit its attractions, becoming one of the most spectacular destinations in Thailand. It is in the Surat Thani province, just off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus.
Until the early 80s it went practically unnoticed, but word of mouth did a lot for it until it became what it is today: one of the most visited places in the country. In width it measures only 21 kilometers and the landscape is unbeatable thanks to the fact that it is surrounded by many tiny islands. The climate in Koh Samui is perfect to enjoy its beaches throughout the year, and what this place offers the most is rest to disconnect from daily stress. In order to get there, you can be arriving at the port by ferry or also at Koh Samui airport, although it is private and cannot be used by anyone.
