Tourism and beaches in the Rías Baixas in Galicia

In Spain we have spectacular beaches that have nothing to envy the most famous in the Caribbean or any other famous beach destination. One of the areas of our country with impressive beaches is Galicia, that if you were lucky enough to have good weather all year round it would be without a doubt the first holiday destination for almost everyone. Among the many destinations that you can find in this Autonomous Community is Sanxenxo, one of the most touristic and beautiful.

In the entire area of the Rías Baixas (Rías Bajas) which is in Pontevedra, there are almost 30 kilometers of coastline where you can find 23 white sand beaches that are perfect for enjoying a few days of vacation with the sole objective of relaxing and enjoying the good weather and the scenery. In the Pontevedra estuary you can find beaches such as Silgar, Areas, Canelas or Portonovo. The latter belongs to one of the municipalities with the longest fishing tradition in the entire area and has a very important port.

In that area there are also many of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Galician coast and that are distributed throughout the Atlantic coast, such as the beach of Paxariñas, that of Maxor, Foxos, Espiñeira, Bascuasa or the A Lanzada Beach, one of the most famous and spectacular in Galicia. The entire Rías Baixas area lives on tourism, in addition to the fact that the own products that are obtained both in the sea and in the countryside are of the highest quality, so anywhere you go to eat you will find delicious dishes.

The town that stands out the most is Sanxenxo, which is the one with the most beaches and even has a "Tourist Day", which is held every August 25 and in which all visitors can taste all kinds of seafood, learn typical dances or participate in a sports competition. 10 kilometers from Sanxenxo is the Hermitage of Nosa Lady of Lanzada, in which a pilgrimage is made on the last Sunday of August and attended by women from all corners of Galicia.
