Visit Les Invalides in Paris


We all know that Paris is the city of love, the city of light, a city in which time passes quickly and for many days you are and many things you see, it gives you the feeling that you have left much to see. If we made a top with the most visited places in this magical city, there would undoubtedly be places such as the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre Museum or the River Seine, but there is much more to see and perhaps not It is as famous as the above but it is worth, and a lot, to visit.

One of these places is Les Invalides, a spectacular architectural complex that Louis XIV had built in 1670 to use it as a military hospital and to attend to all the soldiers who were wounded, hence the name that translates as "the invalids". Here you can find the largest number of museums and monuments of paris, all of them related to the military history of France and which has been very important in the development of the entire country.

In Les Invalides are buried many of the war heroes that France had throughout its history, including the ashes of Napoleon Bonaparte, the most famous French army commander of all time and who draws millions of visitors every year. There is a very large garden area and a church that has a beautiful golden dome and that is a true masterpiece and a perfect sample of classical French architecture.

Among the museums and National Monuments that you can find in this area is the Army Museum, the Napoleon's mausoleum, the Museum of the Order of the Liberation, the Charles de Gaulle Memorial or the Museum of Plans and Reliefs, all of them places where you will discover much of French history.
