If you want to spend some holidays dreamy, you just have to find a way to get to an incredibly beautiful place that not everyone knows. About 900 kilometers north of Brisbane, in the heart of the Whitsunday Islands, is Hamilton Island. This is one of the most accessible tourist islands in Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
It is the only island of Queensland with an airport, and you can fly directly to it from some strategic points like Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns and Townsville in Queensland, and from Melbourne, Sydney and Uluru. If you travel overland along the Queensland coast, you can then take the ferry Quick to Hamilton Island, Airlie Beach, south of Bowen City.
The island is well known for being a kind of tropical paradise with beautiful beaches, underwater coral and its variety of activities such as water sports and adventure sports. With a wide strip of coral reef, snorkeling and diving are one of the activities Most popular water sports, although it is also very common to see people practicing water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and sport fishing.
On the island you can find a great variety of Hotels, shops, restaurants, and a nice marina. If you decide to visit their nature you will be able to see the kangaroos, koalas that live in the area. Hamilton Island occupies an area of about five square kilometers. In total, there are a total of 74 islands that are part of the Whitsunday group.
