Shopping in Madrid

When we travel to any city, in addition to seeing its most interesting places and going to some other show, we all love to go shopping and get things that are unique to that place or that are much better priced than where we live. . Flea markets, fashion, souvenirs… In Madrid you can find countless places where you can buy all kinds of items and at very different prices. If you are going to be in the capital of Spain I give you some tips to make your purchases much more productive:

– Street markets: I have to say that I love them and whenever I visit Madrid I stop by one as they are spectacular. Without a doubt, “El Rastro” is the best, a place where you can find a lot of second-hand things such as furniture, clothes, decorative elements, antiques and all kinds of curious objects perfect for many collectors.

– fashion: You will find the famous "Golden Mile" in the Barrio de Salamanca spanning streets such as Serrano, Goya, Ortega y Gasset or Claudio Coello, although the best and most luxurious firms are on Calle Serrano. You also have many fashion stores in the Puerta del Sol and Gran Vía areas, with department stores such as El Corte Inglés or FNAC (the latter for electronics). In this area you have stores such as Mango, Zara, Bershka, Sphera, Woman Secret, Springfiel, H&M and a lot more.

– Antiques: The best area for antique furniture and art is where the streets of Serrano, Claudio Coello or Huertas are, in addition to "El Rastro".

– Furniture and decoration: Throughout the city you have modern and current stores such as Bo Concept, La Casa or La Oca, all with the most modern and innovative decorative elements and furniture.

– Deli: Cheeses, sausages, sweets, wines and prepared food predominate, all of a high quality and exquisite flavors. You can stop by establishments like Semón, Embassy, Mariano Madrueño, Mantequerías Leonesas or Horno de San Onofre.

– Crafts: There are many shops for handicrafts, religious art, goldsmiths or design that are in the areas of the Plaza Mayor, the Lavapiés or Huertas neighborhood.
