At the coast of Cadiz it is known as the Costa de la Luz, probably because of that special light that it has and that makes its sunsets reddish and spectacular. Almost 200 kilometers that are divided between the Atlantic and Mediterranean slopes and that are separated by the Strait of Gibraltar. The beaches of Cádiz, the city not the province, are of all kinds and for all tastes: very extensive or smaller, urban, rustic, dunes, virgin ... The sand is usually golden and fine in all of them and you can practice all kinds water sports as some of them are very windy and with great waves, great for windsurfing, surfing or any other modality.
Below I give you the characteristics of the Cádiz beaches:
– Caleta Beach: It is in the neighborhood of La Viña, next to the Castillo de San Sebastián. It measures 450 meters, it is urban, with calm waters and its occupation is high. Among all the services you can find, in addition to the Spanish Underwater Activities Center, you have showers, restaurants, beach bars, kiosks, train, bus, parking and many more.
– Victoria Beach: It is the most famous in the city and measures almost 3 kilometers. It has a promenade and its occupation is also high. Among its services you can find umbrellas, hammocks, kiosks, buses, showers, rental of nautical equipment and many more. There is also the Nautical Club.
– Santa Maria del Mar beach: It measures 900 meters, it is urban and there strong wind. It also has a promenade and is urban. Among its services you can find a parking, showers, bus, kiosks, umbrellas, hammocks and restaurants.
– Cortadura Beach: It has an extension of 2,500 meters and is somewhat isolated so its occupancy is low, ideal if you want a quiet day without many people around. It is surrounded by greenery and you have many services, such as showers, buses, parking, umbrellas, hammocks or kiosks.
– Chato Beach: It measures 2,700 meters and is also isolated although with an average occupation. It is also surrounded by vegetation and there is usually wind. It has more or less the same services as the previous ones.
