The London eye It is one of the most peculiar and spectacular attractions in London, a ferris wheel that due to its height and location becomes the most spectacular viewpoint in the city. It was completed in 1999 thanks to the British Airways airline, but it was not opened to the public until the following year because its construction was due to the arrival of the new millennium (in fact it is also called Millennium Wheel). For 6 years it ranked first as the world's largest lookout point, but was soon surpassed by the Singapore Flyer and the Nanchang Star.
The famous London Eye is approximately 135 meters high and is on the South Bank of the Thames, specifically in the area of Jubilee Gardens and it is located between two bridges, the one of Westminster and the one of Hungerford. Definitely a must see if you are traveling to London. At first it was built only for the first 5 years of the millennium, but such is the success it has had that the contract was extended and it is very possible that it will continue to be done since it has become one of the symbols of the city and that it is easily recognizable anywhere in the world.
The London Eye hours they are different in each quarter. It always opens at 10 in the morning but the closing varies: January-March (8:30 p.m.), April-June (9:00 p.m.), July-August (9:30 p.m.) and September-December (8:30 p.m.). To get to the London Eye, it is very close to Tube stations such as Waterloo, Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster. If you go by bus, the closest you have are 211, 77 and 381. Admission costs around 17 pounds.
