Bucharest parks

Bucharest, capital of Romania, is also called the City of Parks and Boulevards. A very welcoming and pleasant city which is also called the East Paris and which is between the slopes of the Carpathians and the Danube. Many are the parks that the city has, of different sizes and each of them the truth that for a different time. Whatever you want and wherever you are, you will have a park nearby to enjoy the natural world.

Among the most popular parks in Bucharest are Cismigiu Gardens, located in front of the Town Hall and which were designed in 1845 although they were not opened to the public until 1860. There are more than 30,000 trees and plants that were removed from various mountains of Romania, and there are also many exotic plants that were imported from the different botanical gardens in Vienna. This is the oldest park in the city and a wonderful place to take a walk and get away from the madding crowd. You can rent a rowboat (like in Madrid's Retiro Park), have a beer outdoors, let the children enjoy a good time in the playground, play a game of chess in the area for it or just sit down on a bench and admire the great life that the park has.

Another wonderful park is the Bucharest Botanical Garden, opposite the Cotroceni Palace and which was inaugurated in 1891. Here there are more than 5,000 varieties of plants that come from both Romania and the rest of the world, in addition to having a beautiful building that is considered the home of the Botanical Garden. Here there are also manuscripts and various types of devices that will bring you closer to plant life, although you also go there, especially the inhabitants of Bucharest, to walk as if it were just another park.

Finally, the other most interesting park is the Carol I, one of the most beautiful and that has a spectacular massive monument that once housed the remains of the communist leader Gheorge Gheorgiu Dej, in addition to the eternal flame that marks the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is another perfect place to spend a good day doing nothing, just enjoying nature and admiring all the green that the city has.
