The Fort of San Cristóbal

The Fort of San Cristóbal, also known as the Fort of Alfonso XII is an impressive Military fortress literally located inside the mount ezcaba. Actually ended up becoming a prison, which was active between the years of 1943 and 1945. About ten years ago, the fortress was definitively abandoned by the army, and already in 2001 the Fort was declared a "Site of Cultural Interest". Although in reality today it is in a state of abandonment.

Initially, access to the interior of the Fort is not allowed. It is not open like any other monument could be. However, if you look at it you will realize that there are many easy access gaps through which anyone who wishes can enter. If you dare, you can walk inside it and explore and explore freely. So you can discover places such as the rooms, the central patio, the water tanks, the general's house, the dungeons, the Church or the oven, among many other things.

The Fort of San Cristóbal It is a visit that you cannot miss if you go through Pamplona. It is a place that will not disappoint you, as it is a unique place that you can also discover for yourself, without routes, guides, or plans to guide you. Something that makes it even more interesting.
