The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium of Japan It is one of the most impressive aquariums in the world. Thanks to the technology used in it, everyone who goes can feel as if they were walking through the Ocean floors. Without the need to use a diving equipment and simply leaning on its gigantic crystals you will be able to contemplate the great variety of fish that inhabit it: 740 species and 26,000 animals. Some of them will surprise you with their large size.

This Aquarium of Japan is the second in size of all aquariums in the world (behind the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta), being able to house 7,500 cubic meters of water in its main tank. The glass that surrounds it and that allows to contemplate this giant fish tank is about 8 meters wide by 22 meters long.

Whale shark is the main attraction

These enormous dimensions are what allow this to be one of the few aquariums in the world capable of hosting a giant species of shark, such as the whale shark. But it seems that in this tank you will find not only one but three whale sharks, in addition to giant blanket stripes.

The aquarium is part of the Ocean National Government Commemorative Expo located in Motubu. In addition to the main tank, the aquarium is made up of four plants and a total of 77 tanks to which saltwater is pumped from the sea 24 hours a day. It is a wonderful place to contemplate the beauty of the various Marine species. It will leave you with your mouth open!
