Visit El Yunque

In total, it occupies 28.000 acres of land in the Sierra de Luquillo, Puerto Rico. This green rain forest, recently renamed the El Yunque National Forest, is a shadow of what it was before. The Spanish conquerors arrived in the 16th and 17th centuries, and everything began to change slowly in the area. Compared to other protected reserves on the island, ecological degradation has been largely reversed in the past 50 years, and today, under the auspices of the US Forest Service, El Yunque is once again a great area covered with large trees.

This great reserve forest, It is one of the most visited areas by tourists, since it is endowed with qualified personnel who kindly help visitors and, a host of excellent, well-marked trails that run the reserve from top to bottom. You can't be too adventurous. In contrast to others parks nationals such as the US, there is no real experience of "loss" in the area.

Unlike the North AmericansPuerto Ricans have not really incorporated a trek that makes visitors feel like they have drifted away from the western world.

This has caused visits to the area to be quite short. Parks like Yellowstone and Yosemite allow visitors to imagine that they are the only survivors of the place. Anyway, if you decide to visit this beautiful reservation, you will discover beautiful places that will make your trip a wonder.
