Ammochostos region in Cyprus


The golden sandy beaches of the free (unoccupied) district of Ammochostos They gently skirt the eastern corner of the island. The town is made up of three interesting churches, and from it you can see the "ghost town" of Ammochostos. It was once the most popular Cypriot tourist center, but it was left uninhabited in 1974 and all its inhabitants are now refugees.
