You like Game of Thrones? Well, we would not be surprised if you were already counting the remaining hours for the seventh season to begin, which we can see on HBO and Movistar + the morning of July 16 to 17, that is, in very few days. As we already told you in our article "New locations in Spain for the seventh season of Game of Thrones", Spain will play a leading role in the new chapters, which many agree is the best series in history. And is that the producers have decided to record many important scenes in our country.

Since the fifth season, many corners of our geography have been key focuses of HBO fiction. Today in Return Travel We want to tell you about two beautiful beaches that will appear for the first time in Game of Thrones this new season. It is the Muriola Beach and the Itzurun Beach. Would you like to discover more details about these sandbanks and the role they will play in the series? Well join us!

Itzurun Beach, Guipúzcoa

First of all, we want to talk about Itzurun Beach, which is located in the Gipuzkoan town of Zumaia. It is one of the most impressive sections of the Basque coast. And it is that here we can find enormous cliffs vertical limestone that reaches up to 150 meters of fall. We are referring to the calls flysch, geological formations that have been formed for thousands of years by the action of the sea.

The beach, which is very close to the town of Zumaia, offers fine golden sand and strong waves, so many people come to this place to practice water sports such as surf or the bodyboard. A separate mention deserves the sculpture "Lur Haizea" commissioned by the town council to Koldobika Jauregi, who seems to watch over the entrance to the beach.

Filming on this beach began last October. Here we could see three of the most characters emblematic and loved ones of fiction: Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). Other actors we could see on set were Liam Cunningham, who plays Sir Davor Seworth, and Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy. We remember that the latter and Jon Snow do not coincide from the first season.

Muriola Beach, Vizcaya

Playa de Muriola, which is located in Barrika, a municipality of Vizcaya, will also appear in the seventh season of the series. Also known as La Cantera, this beach nudist It is located just 10 minutes from the town center, in a small cove protected by beautiful cliffs.

Small in size, this sandy and rocky beach is completely wild, making it ideal for those seeking an environment quiet. In addition, it is a perfect place for surfing, scuba diving and climbing.

Filming at this location also took place in October of last year, a little before that of Playa de Itzurun. Unfortunately I don't know leaked many images, so we do not know very well what role Muriola's sand will have in fiction. Of course, in the few photos that were leaked we could see Peter Dinklage with Liam Cunningham, that is, Tyrion and Davos. We do not know details of the plot, but many assure that both characters will support Daenerys. Then we leave you with our Gallery, where you will find more images of these two beautiful beaches in the Basque Country. Do not miss it!
