There are recurring and other emerging vacation destinations. The latter have a place in the awards Traveler´s Choice 2017, which recognize those places that are beginning to be protagonists in the tourism sector. In the first world position is San Jose del Cabo, a place with a calm and relaxed atmosphere located in the southern part of the Baja California Sur peninsula, in Mexico. Today we tell you what to see here and how to enjoy one of the destinations that you will surely hear about.
What to do in San José del Cabo?
San José del Cabo is the head of the municipality of Los Cabos and is characterized by colonial Spanish architecture of the eighteenth century in a serene setting which contrasts with Cabo San Lucas, which is very close to 32 kilometers to the south. In the San José estuary you can see the more than 200 species that inhabit it and you can practice canoeing and scuba diving in the Cabo Pulmo National Park, in which it is possible to enjoy the remains of the Colima fishing wreck and the only hard coral reef in the Gulf of California.
The beaches and the town
What will surely make you fall in love with this place will be its Beaches. It is one of its main attractions, in addition to serene village setting, which transports us to those typically Mexican municipalities that we have all seen on TV at some time. It has a historic center with pedestrian streets where you can walk to see its colonial buildings.
Places of interest
The main attractives San José del Cabo are the central Mijares square, the Mission San José del Cabo Añuití Church, the City Hall and the House of Culture building, the San José estuary that I mentioned before, the Puerto Los Cabos, and the galleries art and shopping, among others.
