The most beautiful towns in Ciudad Real

What we want to do today is talk to you about the province of La Mancha Real city, which offers the visitor protected natural spaces such as the Cabañeros National Parks and the Tablas de Daimiel National Parks, beautiful monumental ensembles, castles, comedy corrals, windmills and towns as beautiful as those that we are going to show you below. Campo de Criptana

We want to start by talking about Campo de Criptana, a town known for its windmills, which in turn are an icon of Castilla-La Mancha. On the other hand, it should not be forgotten that the town is home to other large samples of heritage historical-artistic, in addition to beautiful natural areas. Of course, the image of this place will inevitably remind you of Don Quixote.

Villanueva de los Infantes

Secondly, we want to talk about Villanueva de los Infantes, an important historical ensemble representative of the Baroque and the Manchego Renaissance. Its symmetrical urban layout offers many places of architectural interest. The more than 250 attract attention shields that are kept on the facades of the houses. According to an investigation by the Complutense University of Madrid, it is "The place of La Mancha" that Don Quixote was talking about.

Almagro

A town that could not miss on the list is Almagro, which has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. There are many places that are worth knowing, such as its Plaza Mayor, where the famous Comedy Corral, which dates back to the 17th century, making it the only one that remains intact from that time. Its manor houses and palaces, among other interesting buildings, are also worth discovering.

Daimiel

Daimiel could not be missing from the list, which undoubtedly stands out for its natural environment. And it is just 10 kilometers away from the Tablas de Daimiel National Park, considered a Biosphere Reserve by the Unesco. For those who do not know it, it is an authentic oasis in the steppe of La Mancha with an important ecological value.

We continue our tour of the most beautiful towns of Ciudad Real in Manzanares, which is located between three beautiful parks Natural: the Cabañeros Natural Park, the Ruidera Lagoons and the Tablas de Daimiel. Among its main monuments are the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Convent of the Conceptionists, the Sato Factory and the Castle.

Ruidera

The main attraction of this place is the Lagunas de Ruidera Natural Park, one of the most beautiful enclaves in all of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as being one of the wetlands most important in the peninsula. Here the Guadiana river is born.

Alcazar de San Juan

Another town we want to talk about is Alcázar de San Juan, which is famous for its carnival, declared a festival of national tourist interest. It is a typical La Mancha town, with houses ancestral from the 17th to the 19th centuries and some mills. The palace of the Grand Prior of the Hospitallers stands out from its old town.

Almaden

Finally, we want to talk about Almadén, a town that owns important cinnabar mines, a mineral from which mercury is extracted, which were included on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2012. It also highlights the square of bulls, the only one in the world with a hexagonal shape. Furthermore, it is considered one of the oldest bullrings.
