Lakes of Covadonga, Asturias

First of all, we want to talk to you about the Lakes of Covadonga, a natural place where you can see two wonderful lakes of origin glacier: Enol and La Ercina. Of course, we cannot forget the Bricial lake, where there is only water during thaw periods and after heavy rains. Banyoles Lake, Girona

From Asturias we moved to the Catalan province of Girona, specifically to the city of Banyoles, where we can find the largest lake in this autonomous community. As you may have imagined, we are referring to what is known as Banyoles Lake, a natural space of great ecological, landscape, cultural and geological value.

We continue our tour of the most beautiful lakes in Spain in Antequera, a municipality in the Andalusian province of Malaga. Here we find the Fuente de Piedra Lagoon, which is the largest in the autonomous community. Framed in a soft relief landscape covered with olive and cereal fields, the lagoon is a place privileged for the reproduction of the pink flamingo. In addition, this is a place of passage for many other birds.

We return to Catalonia to tell you about another beautiful lake. In this case we are located in the province of Lleida, where we find the National Park of Aguas Tortas and Lake San Mauricio. Located in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees, the lake is at the foot of the Encants mountain, a formation that, according to legend, has the shape of two hunters who were cursed by divine forces.

The Lagunas de Ruidera Natural Park, one of the best representations of lakes created from the accumulation of calcium carbonate, could not be missing from the list. Over the centuries they have formed prey natural that give rise to spectacular waterfalls. It is located in Castilla-La Mancha.
