Ireland It is less than 3 hours by plane from the peninsula, making it an ideal destination for a getaway. Of course, this country should not be ruled out as a place to spend a long vacation, since it offers everything a tourist can look for: historical towns, unique environments, literary corners, spectacular landscapes ... Without a doubt, it is a European gem that we should all know.
In Hard Hobbit To Break we have shown you some of the points of interest in Ireland, such as the mysterious tomb of Newgrange, Connemara National Park or the Cliffs of Moher, among many others, but we still have to tell you about many more. Today, for example, we want to teach you the Kerry's Ring (Ring of Kerry), a tourist circuit located in County Kerry. Would you like to meet him with us?
A route of 179 kilometers
Many people agree that the Ring of Kerry is one of the most popular routes beautiful from all over Ireland. We are talking about a route of about 179 kilometers that, as its name indicates, has a circular shape. It is located in the southwest of the country, specifically in County Kerry (just an hour and a half from Cork), and offers visitors a green paradise with spectacular natural corners and many cultural and historical attractions.
As you can imagine, the best way to discover this wonderful place is on foot. The itinerary, which begins and ends in the small but charming town of Killarney, runs through forests, valleys and spectacular coastal corners, winding picturesque longs, discovering lush waterfalls and ruins of ancient cultures, including the Killarney National Park, which offers trails in good condition and very well signposted, as well as bridges, walkways and other elements that facilitate the path. After the park, there are sections of cattle passage, old roads and some forest tracks and there are not so many signs.
Although, as we have mentioned before, the best way to travel the itinerary is on foot, most people choose the option of tours Organized, which can be hired from the same city of Killarney and cover Kenmare, Sneem, Caherdaniel, Waterville, Cahersiveen, Kells, Glenbeigh and Killorgin, to finish, as we have already told you, in Killarney. Another interesting option is to rent a car and take the tour on your own.
Points of interest
There are many wonders that you can discover during the route. For example, in Killarney you will discover some beautiful lakes that you will see in a unique way from the so-called Mirador de las Doncellas (Ladies View); the Torc Waterfall and the Ross Castle, a castle that has been restored from which you can also discover the interior. After Killarney, you can visit the town of Killorgin, located on the banks of the Laune; the Bog Villaje museum in Glenbeig, where you will discover traditional houses with thatched roofs; Rossbeigh Beach; Dingle Bay; the fishing town of Cahersiveen; the fishing village of Portmagee; the island of Valentia; the seascapes of Ballinskelligs Bay, the Coomakista Pass; the circular stone fort that dates back to the Iron Age; the picturesque town of Sneem and the town of Kenmare, known for its lace.
Those that we have just mentioned are just some of the many places that you can visit in this region of Ireland and only if you have the opportunity to visit it will you realize how truly wonderful it is. For the moment, we leave you with our Gallery, where you will find more images of the Ring of Kerry. Do not miss it!
