Carmen Thyssen museum in Malaga

One of the great art collectors of our country is Carmen Thyssen, who not only has in the Thyssen Museum in Madrid its great art collection but in some other city of our country it also has a small collection. The Carmen Thyssen Museum in Malaga is a good example of this.

It is in the historic center of the city, very close to the Plaza de la Constitución, in the Villalón Palace, a spectacular 16th century building that has been renovated and rehabilitated on several occasions as it is architecturally wonderful. The building has two floors and an interior patio that has several galleries, all of them very spacious.

This is where you can find the Thyssen Collection, in facilities that have been specially created to house this collection and also become the Malaga headquarters of the Thyssen Foundation. The museum also has a library, an archaeological exhibition room and, of course, a huge store where you can get a lot of souvenirs related to what is exhibited there.

In total there are some 5,000 square meters those that are available for the various exhibitions that take place throughout the year, since in addition to having a permanent collection it houses others that may or may not be from the Thyssen collection. In principle, this museum will last until 2025, so you have plenty of time ahead to visit it and see some of the more than 200 works on display there.

Two museum floors to take a spectacular tour of some of the most important works of art in history. Undoubtedly an excellent cultural proposal that you can enjoy when you are in the city and that has been created with great dedication since the Baroness Thyssen He is very fond of this city.
