The best beaches and coves on the Costa Dorada

June is just around the corner, which means that soon we will be able to officially welcome the most joyous and fun season of the year, where we can enjoy the wonderful beaches of Spain. And we are lucky to live in a country that has a lot to offer when it comes to the coast.

Today we want to locate ourselves in Catalonia to talk to you about the Golden Coast, the beautiful strip of the Tarragona coastline, which does not receive the attention it deserves because the impressive Costa Brava is in the same autonomous community. Today, however, we want to show you that a beach vacation in the province of Tarragona is also worth it. To achieve this, we are going to tell you about some of the best beaches and coves in this part of the Catalan coastline that stretches for 92 kilometers. Would you like to join us? Cala Fonda (Waikiki Beach)

The first corner that we want to show you is Cala Fonda, also known as Waikiki Beach. It is a sandy area naturist, isolated and difficult to access that does not have any type of service. Belonging to the Tamarit-Punta de la Mora natural interest area, it is protected from the winds by large cliffs and offers shallow water and fine sand.

Cala Forn

Secondly, we want to tell you about Cala Forn, a beautiful cove located in an undeveloped setting of l'Ametlla de Mar. It is a beach with clear waters. crystalline It is quite well equipped, being able to find a beach bar, WC, lifeguard service, showers ... It even has parking, so you can get there by car.

Santes Creus Beach

We continue in l'Ametlla de Mar to tell you about Santes Creus Beach, a virgin cove located in an area with an abrupt profile and surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. It is made up of rocks and shingle and it does not have any type of service. Of course, although it is quite remote, access to the beach is quite easy. In fact, it can be reached by car.

Flat Rock Beach

Calabeig Beach, also known as La Roca Plana, could not be missing from this list. It is a sandy area isolated and of difficult access that is inside a natural space with a high risk of fire, in the municipality of Altafulla. Considered a nudist beach, it offers a beautiful natural environment surrounded by vegetation. It is very close to Cala Fonda.

Xelín beach

On the other hand, we want to tell you about Playa Xelín, which is located between the municipality of l'Ametlla de Mar and the urbanization of Tres Calas. Protected by pine forests and bushes, this 120-meter-long beach is made up of pebbles and small rocks and has a moderate swell. It is an easily accessible beach and stands out above all for its background marine, ideal for scuba diving.

La Pineda Beach

Another beach that could not be missing from the list is La Pineda Beach, one of the largest on the Costa Dorada. With fine golden sand, this Vilaseca beach is divided into three parts and has the main rescue and life-saving services and all kinds of mod cons. In addition, it is adapted for people with reduced mobility and is easily accessible.

Creixell Beach

We also want to tell you about Creixell Beach, which stretches two kilometers between Comarruga and Torredembarra. Here you will find fine golden sand and a quite atmosphere quiet. Cunit Beach

Finally, and aware that we have left many beautiful beaches in the pipeline, we are going to talk about Playa de Cunit, which stretches for 2 and a half kilometers, dividing into eight coves due to the presence of seven groynes. Here you will enjoy a calm and cozy atmosphere.
