The spectacular Torrent de Pareis in Mallorca

There is no doubt that one of the things that most attract the attention of Majorca are its beaches, spectacular and of different types but all of them with a common point: worthy of belonging to paradise. On this island you will find many of the best beaches in Spain, but you will also find many places of interest, especially natural ones, that will leave you speechless.

The good thing about this island is that you can go practically at any time of the year to enjoy its beaches and all its natural surroundings. One of the most magical places you can find in Mallorca is the Torrent de Pareis, a spectacular torrent that is in one of the most abrupt parts of the Tramuntana and that offers sea, beach and nature in a unique combination.

This place was declared Natural monument in 2003 and it is a 3 meter long canyon that was formed by the erosion that the water has been doing in the karst rock over the years. It has vertical walls with a drop of about 200 meters and between them live more than 300 plant species, in addition to various animal species such as the ferreret, an indigenous amphibian believed to be extinct at the end of the last century.

Normally you go to this place doing a route of about 5 kilometers walking, an essential route for all hikers. To get there it is almost all downhill so it can get a little tiring, but it is definitely worth it, and a lot, to discover this place. When you go do not forget to bring a bottle of water, a cap and sunscreen, especially if it is during the summer months when it is hottest.
