Visit the Colosseum in Rome

There is no doubt that the main tourist destination of Rome is the Coliseum, a place that makes you fall in love as soon as you see it and that you will keep in your retina forever. Once you get there you stay looking like "yes, I am here and in person it is even more amazing". One of those places that you have to visit yes or yes at least once in your life, and that is also relatively close to Spain so there is no excuse.

This spectacular monument was the largest Colosseum at the time of the Roman empire and at first it was known as the Flavian Amphitheater. It was built between the years 70 and 72 although it was not completely finished until the year 80, already under the mandate of the emperor Tito. From then on it became the most important leisure center in the city, and today it remains the place of reference for anyone who visits the Italian capital.

In the Colosseum in Rome there was a capacity for 50,000 people and there were all kinds of shows, from gladiator battles even fights between animals and going through executions or re-enactments of historical battles. The appearance that it currently has, half destroyed, is due to the earthquakes and other natural disasters that occurred in the city, but it is something that gives it a lot of charm.

If you go to visit the colosseumI recommend that you do it first thing in the morning since it is when you can be calmer when there are fewer people. It opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. in winter and at 7:30 p.m. in the summer months. The best thing is that you also buy the entrance to the Palatine as the two monuments are worth it and are very close.
