I have already said on several occasions that Portugal It seems to me a fantastic destination for vacations since we not only have it very close but it has many places of great interest and that offer you all kinds of tourism. Today I would like to talk to you about Viana do Castelo, a city that is less than an hour from the border with Galicia.

This city is on the banks of the Limia river and it is one of the historical cities of Portugal since it has many attractions such as museums, churches, buildings and also its coast, which is always an incentive to enjoy a much more beautiful and relaxing landscape. Take note of the Sights of Viana do Castelo:

- The Republic Square It is the ideal place to start your tour of the city since it is in the center, so from there you will have a lot of alleys that make up the most historical part of the city. In the square is the old Town Hall, the Costume Museum, the Central Fountain and the Hospital de la Misericordia.

- When you start to stroll through the center you will find a lot of stone houses that last from the 17th and 18th centuries and that have beautiful balconies with flower pots and glazed galleries. A very nice area where you will also find a lot of taverns in which to try the best wines in the area and of course eat the Portuguese specialties.

- Throughout the city you can also find several palaces and churches of great interest, most of them in the various squares of Barrio Antigo. They are also very interesting to visit the Castle of Santiago de Barra, the port and the Eiffel Bridge.

- Finally, it is highly recommended to go up to viewpoint of the Monte de Santa Lucía, which you can get to by the funicular and where you find the Basilica of Santa Lucia and spectacular views of the city and surroundings.
