Tuvalu, islands that could disappear

Tuvalu is an island-nation that is in the Pacific Ocean, between Hawaii and Australia. It is the fourth smallest country in the world. The countries that border it are Samoa, Kiribati and the Fiji Islands. Interestingly, the continuity of the nation may be in danger for years to come because its islands are only 5 meters above sea level. Its inhabitants could be evacuated to New Zealand or Niue in the coming decades.

Tuvalu has the peculiarity of being the member country of the United Nations with less inhabitants. It is also, after the Vatican, the independent nation with the lowest number of inhabitants. Its total area is only 25 square kilometers and it does not reach 5,000 inhabitants. Is composed of nine islands: Funafuti, Nanumea, Nanumanga, Niutao, Nui, Niulakita, Nukufetau, Nukulaelae and Vaitupu. The capital is Funafuti.

It enjoys actropical maritime lime and it suffers constant storms between December and February. The moderate winds make it pleasant to travel to Tuvalu especially between March and November. Among the vegetation, the most common is to find many palms.

Life in Tuvalu is complicated. There is no drinking water and the land is hardly used to grow anything.. Despite this, it is a very beautiful place worth visiting once in a lifetime. It may be that in a few years the sea level will rise and we will not be able to enjoy these beautiful islands.
