On February 17, the new airport of Lleida-Alguaire, as it is officially known. Located in the municipal district of Alguaire, close to the city of Lleida, this equipment will enhance tourism in the area thanks to the connections with Paris, Frankfurt Y Milan. Likewise, mountain and snow tourism will also benefit from the proximity of the Pyrenees regarding the airport.
As regards the Access, currently can be done through the N-230, taking the Alguaire exit and from the city of Lleida, using a bus line whose frequency is synchronized with the arrivals and departures of the flights (40 minutes). In addition, there is a taxi rank at the same airport.
Soon, it will also be accessible through the new dual carriageway A-14 which, in turn, will connect the A-2 motorway with Vielha Y France. On the other hand, a railway line connecting Lérida with the airport is under study.
The Lleida-Alguaire facilities have a passenger terminal and a control tower, allowing to host up to two operations every hour. Regarding the design of its architecture, integration into the environment has been perfectly taken care of, using plants and woods of greenish tones.
Until now, the companies that operate at the airport, Ryanair Y Vuelingperform two flights weekly with destiny Palma de Mallorca Y Paris. In April, destinations will be expanded with two weekly flights to Frankfurt Y Milan, coinciding with the start of the summer season.
According to calculations, during this first year an influx of 50,000 passengers and it is estimated that, in the next ten years, this figure will increase to 395,000 travelers.
