Visit Altea, in Alicante

One of the most picturesque municipalities on the Levante coast is Altea, a place that used to be very hippy since communities of musicians, painters and artists of different nationalities met there to develop their talents. Currently it is much more developed but still in the old part of the town you can find many of these artists.

Altea is half an hour from Alicante and 10 from Benidorm, so it is the ideal place to visit that coast and be close to everything. These are the most interesting things about Altea:

- It is a village built on a hill and that it has the sea in front, the effect of seeing it in the distance is fantastic since many of its houses are white, like the Andalusian ones.

- They recently did a promenade It is a wonder and it goes from Albir beach (belonging to Alfaz del Pí) to the port of Altea.

- Between the places of interest in Altea There is his church, built on the top of the mountain and which is reached by strolling through narrow streets and enjoying the charm of that area, where there are also many squares with bars and restaurants for you to taste the specialties of the area. From there you can see a panoramic view of the entire coast.

- In the port you can see a lot of boats and fishermen, and if you look the other way you will see the beach with a lot of children playing. A fantastic contrast. The fishermen's quarter It is charming, I recommend you stop by too.

- Altea is a place where you can find residents of a multitude of nationalities, especially all of Europe. A place with different cultures where you can learn a lot about them.

- Refering to gastronomyBeing a fishing village, it is clear that fish and shellfish stand out. In addition, they prepare the rice divinely and in a multitude of dishes. Shrimp, lobsters ... you will certainly not be disappointed with anything you can eat there.
