The most desired destination by travelers around the world is nothing more and nothing less than the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, southeast of Peru. That is at least what can be gleaned from "My Big Adventure," a contest launched by the specialist accommodation website hotelworld.com in which users had to decide their favorite destination.

Machu Picchu, the first destination
The question they asked from hotelworld.com was very clear:
If money was not a limitation when traveling, where would you go?
The contest allowed to choose between a list of 30 proposals, drawing three of those adventures. As we have mentioned, the Inca Trail, in Macchu Picchu, was the most voted. It is a path that is one and a half kilometers long and between 1.20 and 1.40 meters wide, dimensions that vary depending on the topography of the terrain.
The Top 10
The next destination chosen by tourists was Thailand and its Moon Festival, followed by the option of doing a safari through the Kruger National Park (South Africa), seeing the northern lights in Iceland, seeing the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, visiting the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador), touring the Great Wall of China, see the Empire State Building (United States), climb Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) or take the InterRail trip through Europe.
Other adventures on the list
Other adventures on the list include traveling to the Antarctica, visit the pyramids of Egypt, see the Grand Canyon of the United States by helicopter, fly over Cappadocia (Turkey) or sail in a gondola in Venice. Interestingly, from Spain La Tomatina appears at number 30.
